My Story

I graduated from Austin Community College in May of 2016 with an Associates in Applied Science majoring in Architecture and Engineering Drafting. I spent previous years in the carpentry field specializing in repairs and modifications. I have a strong desire to correct design flaws, whether it be in construction or product usability improvements.

Needing to get away from the the physical work of carpentry, I decided that drafting could still allow me to fix and build things, but from a more preemptive perspective. I enjoy drafting in whatever field I need to. I also like to create new ideas and problem solve through drafting.

I have been using AutoCAD LT 2D software and I can do some perspective drawings as well as floor plans and elevation views. I plan to get better software later as finances increase. The 2D LT software only offers water colors and no textures so the images are not realistic in appearance. Please enjoy the photos of my work.

LightFoot House

LightFoot House is an idea I had for a high quality small footprint design with 6″ exterior walls and high ceilings and great natural lighting. The interior offering only 1000 sq. ft. the covered exterior deck adds usability of 638 sq. ft. for entertaining and climate control to the overall usage of the house.

This elevation view shows an alternate enclosure of the deck area. With roll up mid sections that have opening windows with screens will allow for utilizing the 638 sq. ft. of decking area for non dwelling space.

The Rockport

“The Rockport,” named in honor of Rockport, Texas after hurricane Harvey damaged or destroyed a lot of the area in August 2017. I designed it from an idea I had for an ocean/beach front vacation rental with the usability of a long term stay Inn, the comfort of a staffed B & B. More versatility than a timeshare and the warmth and characteristics of a Victorian era home. The overall living space is 4420 sq ft and 729 sq ft of deck/patio area.

First level with roof overhang: 1744 sq ft

This level offers a handicap accessibility suite and a staffed kitchen for any guest’s desiring meal services. It also has an outside wash station for guest’s coming off the beach. An out building (not shown) offers laundry machines and/or laundry services.

This level has a private suite with kitchen and private deck and external entrance as well as internal entrance. The suite can also be used in conjunction with the rest of the level, which has an entertainment area with attached deck and fold back glass curtain wall.

This floor has a community kitchen and deck. The turret suite has a separate stairs for privacy, but has access to the kitchen through the private balcony/deck. It can also be used in conjunction with the rest of the level.
